Production engineering, which is the research field of our laboratory, is a comprehensive field in which the knowledge of variety of fields is utilized to create a new machine. In this field, we study and give an education mainly on ultra precision machining and production systems. Not only do we use the know-how of machining, but we also use theories and phenomena of variety of fields such as the vibration and control of machines, transformation and destruction of material, modeling and optimization of systems, the usage and suppression of fluids and heat, and so on. As you can see in Toyota’s systems, Japan is a leading country in this field of study.

In our laboratory, we always aim to invent creative practical techniques, and already some of our researches are esteemed highly and practical applications have been realized by collaborative researches with many companies. You students in our laboratory will have an opportunity to study on these researches, and at the same time you will learn about AD converters and the control of servo motors, and the measurement and analysis of the vibration of machines. By doing these activities, you will be able to experience the excitement of learning, acquire the knowledge that is needed for mechanical experts, and invent creative practical techniques from the beginning.
