Investigation of Human Activity, Human Response and Injury Prevention in Traffic Accidents

  • Prof. Koji Mizuno
  • Assist. Prof. Daisuke Ito

To understand the kinematic behavior and injury mechanism of human during impacts in traffic accidents, mathematical simulations and experimental analyses are conducted. Crash tests and sled tests are also carried out with cooperation of government and industries. Through these activities, we contribute to society to reduce the severity and number of victims in traffic accidents.

Human System Engineering Group

◆ Vehicle crashworthiness
◆ Protection of occupants with various body sizes
◆ Understanding of injury mechanism and proposition of injury prevention of vulnerable road users
◆ Impact biomechanics
◆ Energy absorption of members
◆ Human activities before accidents
